Design Process

At Craftisan Graphics the design process is flexible but thorough. Each project is different but the steps below provide a generalized outline of an average project.  The most important part of the design process is communication  – with great feedback from the client a project can proceed quite quickly.

Most graphic design projects can be completed in 7-10 days excluding custom logos and full web designs. This timeline is greatly affected by the client’s promptness in responding to revisions/emails.  Most designers tend to have a number of projects on the go at any given time. If you will be unavailable during your project please let me know so I can start/finish with another client while you are away.

Okay so now for the steps….

Step 1: The Quote

You provide the ideas for your project and I will supply an estimation of the potential costs. A deposit is required and is determined by the size of the project (eStore setups require payment upfront).

Step 2: The Questions

Before beginning your project, I will send you a number of questions or have you complete a questionnaire that will help me understand your needs and expectations. You will need to respond to these questions as thoroughly as possible. The more information you provide the easier it is to develop your design.

Step 3: Working with your Ideas

After receiving your feedback I will develop a concept(s) for your design. Your initial design mockup may show color scheme, font choices, layout and some graphic concepts. You will also notice a watermark on your images – this watermark remains until the final design is approved and your bill has been paid as per our previously agreed terms.

Step 4: Tweaking the Concept

This is a very important part of the design process and can include many rounds of emails – your prompt feedback to my emails will ensure your project is completed quickly and efficiently. Once you have received your initial design mockup you will need to provide detailed feedback about what you like/dislike about the design. The more detail provided the easier it is to narrow down the direction for your project.

Step 5: The Final Step

Your design is perfect! and there are no more changes. I will issue a final invoice and once that invoice is paid your graphics are emailed to you (minus the watermarks).

Customer Support
